Chrome Extension v1.3.1 Release
We are happy to announce a new version of the Securus Chrome Extension, v1.3.1, is now rolling out to all customers. Your Chromebooks will update automatically with the new update.
This is a big release and the main features are listed below.
Phrase highlighting.
The Chrome extension will now highlight the captured word with a red box around the text.
Keyboard only handling.
The Chrome extension can now handle the ‘keyboard only’ flag when creating library inclusions/exclusions.
Prevent captures from the same elements.
The Chrome extension will now stop capturing the same webpage more than once if the screen hasn’t changed. This will reduce duplicates and false positives.
Handle Chrome specific pages.
The extension will no longer capture from the extension store or other Google Chrome specific web pages or settings.
Viewport text handling.
This is still a work in progress, but the Chrome extension will provide a screenshot of the captured word instead of the top of the page as it did previously. This will help to clarfiy what captued and why.
Non syncing account handling.
Fixed an issue where the username could not be detected and shown as ‘unknown’ if the user account was set to not sync.
We will also have a new Securus cloud console release coming in the next few days.
